Neal Saferstein has been convicted of fraud. It’s no secret; last month’s AARP magazine had an article about him, and two of my friends have asked if he’s related. NO, of COURSE he’s not related. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it, my former belief (that anyone named Saperstein, Sapirstone, Safire, or Safer had an ancestor named Saferstein) to the contrary notwithstanding. The rationale has to be that his criminal tendencies come from his MOTHER’S side . . . any other explanation would be unthinkable, right?
