MILK AND HONEY . . . SURROUNDED BY TSURIS

It took THIS yiddisheh kopf a few days, but I remembered something about Jef Mallett (see the post directly beneath this one). In 2002 he ran a particularly profound cartoon (not an oxymoron; only Jef could pull off this kind of trick). I can’t format the cartoon here, so I've written out the dialogue below. Caulfield is a precocious kid, and Frazz is the school janitor.

CAULFIELD: When I was in daycare, we got snacks. In kindergarten, we got naps. What am I taking for granted now that I'm going to miss when I'm older?
FRAZZ: Well, what do you think of the Middle East situation?
CAULFIELD: What are you talking about? The Middle East has nothing to do with me.
FRAZZ: That.

It’s convoluted and deep, you guys, but I’m sure YOUR yiddisheh kopfs can figure it out.

  1. It took me a while, about 15 seconds, and then I got it.
